Paris Vacation

One of the favorite city destinations in Western Europe noted for its romantic appeal is Paris; over the years it has become one of the most visited cities in the world. Unfortunately a Paris short stay can only ever be considered a taster; you can never become bored in this beautiful city.

A city famous for its fabulous architecture, good food, wine, street markets and galleries; the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre must not go unmentioned. Traveling through the city of Paris can be very enjoyable; there is a superb underground rail system called the Metro which is efficient and easy to understand.

The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall is a magnificent steel structure; it can be seen from any point within the city and the superb views just can't be matched by those looking at it from the ground. You can be assured of an even more beautiful sight if you visit in the evening when it is illuminated; if you are really enthusiastic you can take a tour where the guide will tell you how this beautiful tower was built.

On your Paris trip ensure you add the famous Champs Elysees to your list of places to visit; it will present you with many famous designer shops and good restaurants. This avenue may be select but it attracts large numbers of visitors daily; top class hotels are found here, although if you want to stay at a more reasonably priced hotel, they are available outside of the city center.

A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; it contains almost a third of a million exhibits and is in fact one of the biggest art museums in the world. Visitors on short stays in Paris could easily be overwhelmed; many of the world's art collections are housed here, which includes the renowned ‘Mona Lisa'. Paris has always been a magnetic destination for artists; painters like Monet and Picasso spent many years here and a large number of their art works can be seen in Paris today.

The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; it provides visitors with a wonderful photo experience because it contains the names of every one of his generals. Although not generally well known, the Arc had an observatory installed after it was constructed to provide views of neighboring areas; it stands in the place where the city's main avenues begin including the Champs Elysees.

Certainly it is not fair to believe that these are the only places in the city worth visiting; and whilst there are many more worthy examples, those listed here should not be missed. A Paris Short stay vacation should only ever be considered a sample of what the city can offer; the likes of medieval churches, buildings and castles, which it has in abundance, will have to wait until another time.
